this HOLY rodeo! is a performance art circus of accessible art punk that is quickly enrapturing fans across New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Singer-songwriter, Film Composer, and uncertified ornithologist Chris Harth awoke in the middle of a full scale robbery of his by thieves who only wore wrestler masks. He proclaimed, unprompted, "OFF WITH YOU VERMIN, FOR I AM ORDAINED WITH THE POWER OF THIS HOLY RODEO!" These words, when spoken in this order, instantly repelled the thieves and thus the new act was born.
Part-man, part-beast, the band conjures spirits in an attic in Brooklyn and features the unrelenting thumpy rhythms of bassist Mario Marques, the dashing technical prowess of Gaetano Lardieri on drums and beat circuitry, the classically-trained tenor and amphibious experimental fiddle of Avery Devine, the cantankerous banjo rattles and hollandaise-smooth Stratocaster work of Max Stratyner, and the boyish wounded animal vocals, jazz piano, and jittery guitar playing of Chris Harth. Combing their infatuations with eclectic literature, diverse music, theater, and get-rich-quick schemes, they have devised an elaborate stage show and songs of incredible diversity that have left audiences mesmerized, enlightened, and with heightened telekinetic skills (results may vary).
On Nov. 12th, they released their debut single, "DIG!", a single that is as musically diverse and conceptual as it is catchy, fresh, and wild. It features blistering punk rock moments, wild blown out synths, disorienting guitar counterpoint, feral vocals contrasted with spare moments of jazz-influence piano hooks, and an elaborate sense of structure.
